Your Entertainer
My name is Steve Gallagher. I was born in Hamilton, ON and raised in Stratford, ON. I started playing the bagpipes when I was 17. While I was taking my GMT I joined the Argyle Sutherland Highlanders. I've always had a fondness for the bagpipes and Scottish Highland tunes. Gallagher Highland Entertainment is the culmination of my local, regional, national, and international performance experience playing the bagpipes and small pipes. I have performed at over 400 public and private events over the last 14 years including end of life/celebrations of life, birthdays, weddings, civic and private events.
The Difference in Sound
To many, the bagpipes can seem overwhelmingly loud, especially inside venues as opposed to outside. I offer an alternative which has made a significant difference in how people perceive tunes played on the bagpipe. I was fortunate to find a set of electric bagpipes that produce a genuine and true bagpipe sound that features a controlled volume. This allows me to offer a rich bagpipe/small pipes experience that will be pleasant to the most sensitive ears.
Appealing to Everyone
I have had the privilege of performing for the young and the elderly and everyone in between. Every year I get to perform at Remembrance Day celebrations throughout the lower mainland. I play at Elementary Schools, and at the Canadian Legions. I get to share my music with those who have lost loved ones, and those who have just brought life into the world. Seeing that suprised look on a child's face who is hearing the bagpipes for the very first time, or that serene expression of an elderly couple hearing a tune that takes them back to those younger, beautiful times in their lives is a blessing.
